1st gun

I can't find an M1911. I do like the ultra carry II though. Both good guns, I do like the single stack option more. How do you guys feel about gun shows, do you think the guns there are worth purchasing?

Gun shows used to be cheap, not so much anymore. Online gun dealers are good but you have to ship to an FFL and pay the fee. Private seller is the way to go, post an ad on Craigslist saying you are looking for a firearm and see what you can do.

That's strange, the M1911 is quite a popular pistol, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I know every gun shop, sporting goods stores (that carry small arms), and range I have gone to have all had some variation of an M1911 on display.

While I've never been to a gun show, just reading news articles and other firearm forum members personal experiences at gun shows as of late, now is certainly not the time to go. Line wait times as long as 2 hours (or more) before even getting your ticket (nevermind actually getting in), serious price gouging on whatever you can get your hands on, it's pure mayhem from what I can gather. Personally though, I really don't see the benefit of gun shows, particularly now, when you can usually get the same product at the local gun shop or sporting goods store.

Oh and Rev, they don't call it "Glock leg" for no reason now

last time i went just looking they prices didn't really seem that bad they were generally 100 off retail from what i could find. some more some less. but that is how it goes.

Hmm, maybe all the commosion is dying down then, since most of the stories I've heard were from late October into some parts of January. Either that, or the area you're from isn't involved in the mass hysteria.

I'm in TX, we generally have plenty of guns to go around down here. Funny story....was playing Gears of War 2 on xbox w/ some canadian, soon as he found out i was in tx he was like, "so do you guys just sit on your porch and wait to shoot people?" he was dead serious too.
