No it's cool! That's a damn nice engine in that pic.....

I was originally going to route the wires over the top, but I'm going to be tucking and hiding as much of the wiring as possible so it didn't make sense to have everything else tucked and have a gang of plug wires mussing it all up . That's one of the main reasons I'm going with the heat tape is to protect the wires. It's rated to 2000 degrees and I will probably add the little "boot socks" later on as well so they should be good to go. Plus, the added benefit to routing the plug wires this way is that I'll be able to easily get my valve covers on and off to do valve adjustments. I should have my valve covers in tomorrow and I'll post a pic of how awesome it's going to look with the wires tucked....

I got my valve covers in last week and I finally got around to doing all the other little things I needed to do before I could put them on for (hopefully) the last time. I got the other side of the headers wrapped and the valves adjusted. Everything is looking real good and I'm really getting antsy to get this beast in the truck......

A quick note about the valve covers....

I totally had my mind made up on a set of finned covers and in the future it may still end up with them, but I got a super awesome deal on a set of fabbed aluminum covers that I just couldn't pass up. Also, apparently I'm going with a red and black theme on the engine now...at least until the whole truck gets final paint.......

I'm really diggin' the exhaust wrap.....I didn't like working with that itchy shit, but the end result was worth it for sure......
